Beaverton Figure Skating Club 2010

As you and your family watched the 2010 Canadian Olympic figure skating team wow the Vancouver crowds in February, did you wonder just how do those skaters learned those amazing jumps, spins and turns? Or did Sydney Crosby’s cross-cuts catch your eye?

Skaters of all ages and skill levels, ranging from “starting from scratch” to those who “want to learn something new”, are invited to join the Beaverton Figure Skating Club this season! We provide Skate Canada skating programs including the introductory CanSkate as well as StarSkate programs and also offer adult lessons to meet a variety of skill and interest levels. Our “Ten-Lesson Learn-to-Skate” Program is a great way to get your “wanabee” skater to check out the experience of skating.

Our season runs from October to the end of March and includes special event days as well as Christmas Gala and year-end Carnival shows to invite family and friends to attend. Our professional Skate Canada coaching team is focused on keeping the fun in skating while encouraging skaters to develop and aspire to a variety of personal goals, including participating in competitions and skating tests.

The Beaverton Figure Skating Club thrives on the efforts, extraordinary skills and vision of our volunteers and welcomes students, family and community members to join us and get involved in making your community a great place to be this winter.

Our motto is “Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.” (Confuscious)

We encourage you to find out more about skating in our community and welcome you to ask us about our programs during our upcoming registration dates (scheduled dates are September 18 at the Beaverton Fair, and September 22 & 28, 7-9 p.m. at the Town Hall). You may also call Jan Teel, President at 426-5911, Marg Munro, Vice President at 426-9138 or Christine Reid, Registrar at 484-5866 for more information.
